Frequently Asked Questions

We are booking now through November 23, 2025.

The exhibition will commence in Early February: date and location TBD.

What exactly is this I AM Enough Project about?

I AM Enough is a portrait project and exhibition that empowers women of every age to embrace their truth, their beauty, and their story.

  • It’s an act of courage.

Women of all ages are invited to step in front of the camera and be photographed as they are, without the pressure to look younger, slimmer, or “perfect.”

  • It’s about rejecting unrealistic standards.

Instead of chasing filters, fillers, and endless beauty routines, this movement honors natural beauty, experience, and individuality. Younger women, too, are increasingly caught in the cycle of FaceTune, filters, and fear, afraid to be seen in their natural selves. This movement offers them a new narrative of freedom and acceptance.

  • It’s a shared community experience.

Each woman’s portrait becomes part of a collective exhibition, where stories and images come together to spark conversation and show that we are enough, exactly as we are.

  • It’s empowerment for future generations.

By standing up now, women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond send a message to daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and friends: you don’t have to erase yourself to be beautiful.

  • Participation is free.

Every woman is welcome. For those who want a tangible reminder, optional keepsakes (prints, art pieces, or albums) can be purchased.

Can I share the shoot with my daughter, mom, or a friend?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. This project is even more powerful when shared. You’re welcome to participate on your own, or alongside your mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, or a friend. Coming together not only makes the experience more meaningful, it also adds to the collective story we are telling, that women of every age and stage are enough, exactly as they are.

Will the photos be retouched?

Each portrait will be gently refined to bring out the best of you while keeping your authenticity intact. We won’t erase wrinkles, scars, or expression lines, because they tell the story of your life. Instead, we use flattering light, professional equipment, and subtle adjustments to create images that feel natural, polished, and true to you.

What if I don’t like my photos?

We understand this worry, so many women feel nervous about being photographed. That’s why this project exists. Our sessions are designed to be gentle, supportive, and collaborative. You’ll be guided every step of the way, and together we’ll create images that reflect your truth and beauty.

Remember, participation is always free. If you decide you’d like a keepsake, you’ll only purchase the photos that truly speak to you—there’s never any obligation.

Do I need to wear makeup?

The heart of I Am Enough is to honor you exactly as you are, free from masks and outside expectations. We welcome you, however you choose to show up. For some women, that means going completely natural; for others, a touch of light makeup provides confidence. If you’d like, you can gently enhance your features with subtle touches such as evening out your skin tone, applying mascara, shaping with some bronzer, or adding a bit of lip color/gloss. The goal is never to hide who you are, but to let your natural beauty shine through. For inspiration, Jola often uses brands that embrace this philosophy of enhancing, not covering, such as Jones Road and Well People.

What should I wear?

Wear something that feels like you. Clothing that is simple and comfortable (often in solid tones) photographs beautifully, but the most important thing is that you feel authentic and confident in what you choose. Once you book your session, you’ll receive a style guide with helpful tips and inspiration.

I feel nervous about being photographed. What if I’m not photogenic?

You are not alone; so many women feel this way. That’s exactly why this project exists: to show you that you are photogenic when seen in your truth. You’ll be guided every step of the way, so you don’t need to know how to pose or perform. Together, we’ll create images that reflect your real self: beautiful, worthy, and enough.

How long does the session take?

Your experience will last about two hours. This gives us time to settle in, connect with you, and create your portraits in a relaxed, unhurried way.
