Newborn Sessions - Babies are a precious gift and are tiny for such a short time. A newborn session is the perfect opportunity to capture those sweet moments. I will guide you through preparing for your newborn session so it is a memorable experience.
The studio has everything you need for baby! I have hundreds of wraps in every color, handmade newborn outfits and knitted items along with a large inventory of props.
Appointments typically take place on weekday mornings at 9 am (or the occasional Saturday depending on availability) when baby is 5-12 days old. If baby ends up spending time in the NICU, please don't stress about the timing as preemies have a larger window to get those sleepy newborn poses and I am also well able to work with babies that are a little older. They are just more touchy and take extra care and time to work with.
It is recommended that you book 2-3 months prior to your due date to ensure availability. While last-minute openings may be available, booking early ensures I am able to photograph your baby during that key 5-21 day window. Should the baby arrive early, we can always make changes to your session date.
Detailed packages are listed below. Please keep in mind that digitals are edited for color, density and cropping, they are NOT retouched. Retouching can be purchased through an upgrade. PLEASE read all the details so you will understand what is included in each package!
Newborn Portrait Retouching - Every newborn is perfect just as they are—but sometimes little things like baby acne, blotchiness, or scratches can distract from the timeless beauty of your portraits. That’s why I offer professional retouching as an added upgrade option with every newborn session. I carefully and naturally smooth skin tones while keeping your baby’s delicate features intact, so the final portraits reflect the pure, fresh look you’ll want to cherish forever. Your little one will still look like themselves—just the way you remember them—without the temporary newborn blemishes. Please inquire at time of making your selections. The Basic finish does NOT include any form of retouching at all.
A 50 percent deposit is due to reserve your session date and time.
I can promise you that I have worked long and hard at the delicate craft of photographing newborns. Many years of experience and studying special soothing, wrapping, safe handling and posing of newborns have gone into working to provide the very best experience for my clients.
You will find my studio to be quite comfortable and relaxing. I know many (if not all) new parents are overwhelmed and sleep-deprived so it is incredibly important to me to do my best to assure that the effort you put into taking the time to have this short-lived time captured is rewarded with beautiful images.
WHAT TO WEAR AND PROPS
I have lots of adorable props, baskets, boxes, wreaths, wraps, hats and headbands that you are free to use for your session! In fact, over the years I have amassed a whole lot of things for my newborn sessions that also include an extensive array of backgrounds and fabrics. Depending on which session you purchase, you are also welcome to bring things that are special to you and I will try to incorporate them into the portraits. If you have a specific prop in mind that you see in any of my galleries please inquire as I do not own all the props you may see in my samples. Many of them are brought by the parents just for their child. Please read all the detailed pricing information below for more information.
After you schedule your session with me I will share my Session Prep Guide with you so we can work together for the most successful newborn session possible.
When you purchase a maternity session with Diane Mueller Photography you will get a 25 gift certificate towards your FULL or EXTENDED newborn session.
If you have made other arrangements for your Newborn Session, that's ok too.
If you prefer a location or outdoor session or want to add your spouse or children, you will be allowed to upgrade for an additional fee. Locations within a 10 mile radius of the studio incurs an extra fee of 50. For locations beyond that, travel will be added at the rate of 2.75 per mile charges one way after the first 10 miles.
I have quite a large selection of stunning maternity gowns and draping fabrics you can use or you can wear your own. I also can provide you with information about renting a gown from a company I recommend. Advance planning is needed for a rental. Please plan to bring a well fitting strapless nude bra and panties for your maternity session.
Sales will be added to your package selection at the time of payment.

Studio session includes poses with one or more outfits. Add 25. for each extra outfit after the first two!

All digitals are in the BASIC finish with no extra

Albums are an incredible way to showcase many of the images from your session. Plus, the album is what children will inherit years from now, and treasure for years to come with their own families. They are your family history in imagery format -- your legacy. Our albums are uniquely hand created and you won't fine them anywhere else!

Sitter Sessions - 265.
Let's be honest, babies around 6-9 months are just plain adorable with their chubby little arms and legs, and those big round eyes. This is definitely a time in your baby's life you will want preserved.
This 30 minute STUDIO session is for 1 child around 6-7 months of age when your child is sitting well alone, unsupported. 2-3 outfits are allowed. Add siblings or parents to this session for 50. extra.
This is a perfect time to add Mom & Me!
For a location session within 10 miles of La Grange add 50. to the session.

Birthday Sessions - 299.
This one hour studio session is to capture your child's first birthday. It is for the individual only and can include up to two outfits plus a cake smash if you wish. You are welcome to bring along themed props and perhaps a smash cake for those milestone birthdays!
Session includes up to 15 full resolution UN-retouched digital files
Add $50 to the session for locations within 10 miles of La Grange.
UPGRADE BY ADDING A MILK OR BUBBLE BATH - 50.

EXTENDED ONE YEAR SESSION - 399.
This studio session can include mom and dad and siblings too. Family poses will be done as well as individual shots of the birthday child. Clothing changes are allowed to include one outfit for family and a couple different changes for the individuals of the birthday child. You are welcome to bring along a smash cake if you like and themed props. With this session you will get up to 20 digital files
