The decision actually came from a conversation with myself and a friend. She is having a really rough time, and I am the heaviest I have ever been, and we are both just kind of struggling. She asked if I had seen your work, and I told her that I had. She said that your posts often make her cry, because she wanted to feel that way, the way your clients feel when they leave your studio. So we decided that we needed to make this happen. The photos will be a reminder of how beautiful we are, but we really want to have this experience together, to learn to love ourselves again, just the way we are.
It was a girls day out!!! A group of us girls went together. Make-up, stylist and photo session. It was all about empowerment and encouragement. It was such an amazing experience focusing on beauty inside and out, shape, size, beautiful flaws and perfect imperfections!!!!! I highly recommend every woman take part in something like this!!!! It definitely was not "glamour shots"...more like women empowering and encouraging each other shots!!!!! Nothing but positivity!!!
You take beautiful pictures. It is amazing how differently we see ourselves from how others perceive us! You and my mother made me feel special and beautiful today! You are right! Saying negative things about yourself only damages our self esteem. I need to be more positive about my body image. I think every girl should have a chance to see herself through your cameras eyes, instead of being insecure about what we dislike about ourselves, we should celebrate what we LOVE about ourselves. I am so glad I came.
Today, the hubby and I went to the Glenwood Springs pool. As I observed all the beautiful women of every shape walking, soaking and swimming - I had to wonder ...
