We have styled and photographed thousands of women-of all shapes and sizes, for their boudoir sessions. The most important advice we can give anyone is this: Try things on and LOOK- IN- THE- MIRROR! -hell, dance in the mirror! Take a compliment, and sing in the shower.

Lingerie Suggestions by Body Shape

Are you an apple, pear, hourglass or a martini? Here is your go to guide for fitting your shape. (*not all shapes are represented, each shape can range from petite to plus. *click on the names of each for lingerie suggestions.)

Tip 1

Vision & Personal style

Before you go shopping, think first about how you want your session to look. Create a vision or a story. Daydream a bit. What is your fantasy?

Try on and find pieces that fit the look and feel you want for your session.

Personal style If you love shoes, jewelry, and lashes, make sure to incorporate that into your session planning. If you are more of a barefoot, au naturale type of women, just keep it simple-maybe just a t shirt and undies, or a white sheet is all you need.

Do's and Dont's

Do:

Try on everything! For the best service and fit, visit a local lingerie boutique. The expert stylists will help find the best fit for your body. If you can't make it to the store make sure to follow sizing guides and place your order in advance. Know your body shape, what kind of fit you like, and having your measurements will help with finding lingerie you'll love. This will allow you to try on your items to ensure proper fit.
Dress for your body type See our guide below for identifying your body type and dressing to show it off.
Take care of yourself Mind, body and soul. Meditate, eat, go to the spa, take time for you, listen to music, practice posing in the mirror, dance in your kitchen. Do things that make you feel good.

Don't:

Don't be so hard on yourself
Don't take life so seriously
Don't listen to that silly voice in your head that says you can't. YES YOU CAN!
Don't starve yourself
Don't do this for someone else, do it for you! You are a QUEEN!

Tip 3

Stockings

When looking for stockings, either to be used with a garter or not, look for ones that do not have silicone tops. The silicone tops hold them in place but will create lines in the skin and will dig into the thighs creating lumps.

Tip 4

Head to Toe

Timeline to primp and pamper before your session.

Hair Color/Cut For trim 1 week, for color or full cut 3 weeks prior

Facial Depending on type of facial 1 week to 1 month prior to shoot

Tanning Avoid spray tans like the plague, spray tans make skin in photos appear magenta. Also avoid sunburns and tan lines.

Nails A day or two before shoot. Also use simple colors, simple colors will keep the images classic and looking good. Avoid neon, bright greens, pinks, yellow, and look for reds, blues, purples and neutrals for best results.
