~ WARDROBE ~

What you choose to wear should match your personality and your mission. Dress the part while allowing yourself to shine through. Be sure your wardrobe is well-fitting and won't distract the viewer from connecting with your face and eyes. Plan to bring 3-6 wardrobe options to work with. Variety is key to providing you with your best outcome.

MALES: If your are wearing a suit, be sure the neck of your shirt fits snug, but not tight. A windsor knot is the most flattering and well-balanced style. For ore casual options, keep patterns simple, and be sure shirts are the proper fit and ironed.

FEMALES: Choose colors that compliment your complexion. Keep necklines simple and lean towards fabrics with some texture.

~ SKIN PREP & MAKEUP~

Be sure to moisturize (men, too) & bring Chapstick. Redness and blemishes can be edited, however a simple base can help even out the skin. If you have oily skin, oil blotters or powder can help. Keep makeup natural; You want to look like yourself. While having makeup professionally done can elevate your professional images, be sure you are comfortable with the makeup artist and don't go overboard from your normal, daily look. Too much base, blush or fake eyelashes can come across as theatrical in close-up images.

~ POSING & EXPRESSION ~

We will work through different poses in several wardrobe selections. I will walk you through various expressions and posing positions to capture your BEST self. Most posing is done standing, so please inform me if you need to be seated.

Chin and Jawline - Practice pushing your head forward (like a turtle) and chin slightly down. You will probably be asked to do this throughout the session. This motion helps define the neck and jawline. Here's a HOW-TO video for reference.

Eyes - We will avoid the "deer in headlights" look by mastering the "Squinch." This is done by bringing your lower lids upward. This gives a unique connection with your viewer. Smile with your eyes!
